Yes, they last a very long time.I replaced my G-2900, which is by far, my favorite, because the band broke.I got this G2900F-3VDR because it was on sale and looked nearly exactly the same as my G2900.The color is like a dark military brown.Love it.The only thing I miss is the metal button that you push to backlight the face.It is plastic in this model, and makes it look just a little cheap.Otherwise, I still love this watch!

When the last one broke, I decided to try a $50 watch and picked the G-Shock Men's Watch. It is a thick, tough, functional, and waterproof watch. I love the e-data feature. I have replaced alarms on my phone with this function. The band it really tough. I had it get caught on a cupboard door and it pulled me to the floor.

(More customer reviews)Exactly as advertised.A little smaller than the standard G-Shock, which is what I was looking for. Band fits nice, although quite wide.

Only one very small complaint, and that is when you use the light at night, it does not backlight the digital data and therefore you cannot see it.

Other than that, a great watch that I would recommend and buy again.

(More customer reviews)Generally a nice watch with useful features, especially the analog hands that complement all of the normal digital features like stopwatch, alarms, and world times. Having the owner's manual handy is an absolute must, however, as changing and activating settings is not intuitive and the tiny print on the dial is hard to read. All of that said, I would recommend this watch.

(More customer reviews)I really enjoy this watch and I agree with all of the pro's of the other reviewers.It's well built, solid, and wears well everyday.I'm usually pretty abusive with my watches (drops, scrapes, salt water, sweat, and the gym) and I have intentionally punished this watch to see if it lives up to all the hype.So far, no scratches on the band or mineral face.With some soap and water, this thing cleans up quickly and looks new again.

Although, I don't know about the negative review about the LCD being dim.I haven't had a problem thus far and if using the backlight, the LCD is visible in all lighting conditions (pitch black or blindingly bright).

And an additional plus, my girlfriend loves the fact that it has a very smooth surface and well rounded edges.She used to complain about how my watch band would scratch her when we held hands and such, so this is something to consider if you have the same problem.Not a complaint yet!

Love this watch, love the styling, and would buy it again if I needed to.

(More customer reviews)G-Shock watches speak for themselves.My last G-shock unfortunately had a broken strap and since it was purchased in Japan, good luck with finding parts for it.I would agree with another reviewer that the "adjust" button is harder to press, but that's probably because Casio doesn't want you to accidentally hit that button.All the other 3 buttons protrude a bit more, and you don't have to use your nails to push down.The back lit is blue, and it's easy to read.Overall you can't complain about the build quality of the watch.The strap feels extremely comfortable, and the watch doesn't feel bulky at all.I have a pretty thin wrist and it fits me pretty well.

(More customer reviews)For start,the design of the watch is great.The visual bulk of the watch disappears as soon as it's on your wrist; it doesn't sit as high on your wrist as some G shocks tend to and the rubber strap is quite comfy.The buttons on the sides of the Mudman are large but a little stiff due to the one piece construction of the buttons and case to greatly reduce mud from entering inside the case.The shortcoming with the G9000MS-1 model specifically however is the display.Forget about trying to read it in low light conditions at all, and even when there is adequate light, you may find yourself tilting it at just the right angle in order to read the digits.The smaller details of the display such as the alarm indicators are all but impossible to read without the backlight.Once the backlight is activeated, the digital display characters go from a dull red to a bright blue, and the white words around the display are lit up in a bright white.Aesthetically, the blacked out face in combination with the black case, band and metal bits make it fit the theme well.The G9000MS-1 is still as practical and durable as any other G Shock, just expect to get more use out of the backlight.
