This watch is for my son-in-law who is in the Army, just returned from Iraq but is scheduled to return to Afganistan and this would be great for him when he gets down and dirty protecting our freedom. Thank you Casio for building such a touch watch.

I have three G-Shocks and this one is my favorite.I have a smaller wrist that most men and the truely huge G-Shocks just don't seem to work for me.So when I choose, I must be sure that it isn't sooo bulky - this one is not (neither is my G-7100-3V or AWG-100). Love the watch.

This is my 3rd G shock in 20 years... Yes, they last a very long time.I replaced my G-2900, which is by far, my favorite, because the band broke.I got this G2900F-3VDR because it was on sale and looked nearly exactly the same as my G2900.The color is like a dark military brown.Love it.The only thing I miss is the metal button that you push to backlight the face.It is plastic in this model, and makes it look just a little cheap.Otherwise, I still love this watch!

Casio Men's Wave Ceptor watch #WVQ600SGA-1AV Review

Casio Men's Wave Ceptor watch #WVQ600SGA-1AV
Average Reviews:

The watch is elegant and gorgeous.Although I'd consider it to be a bit heavy, it isn't out of line for a Stainless Steel watch.Too bad Casio doesn't do them in Titanium. The gold tone leans more towards a "orange" gold than a "yellow" gold.Still very pretty, though. The watch arrived well protected from scratches and abrasions.

The instructions for setting the watch are spot on -- once you know how to set it!It took me 2 days of trial and error to get it right! Some of the behaviors of the watch aren't clearly spelled out in the manual. It was also helpful to dl the set up instructions in PDF from Casio as it then is on 4 normal size pages. That makes it easier to read while pressing all the buttons. So be patient on set up.

I have other Casio solar atomic watches and found that the atomic adjustment can be finicky. It works for me 95% of the time, though.I get a kick out of the watches "going to sleep" at night!

This is a watch with an "expensive" look to it!

havent had a chance to use it but it looks very sturdy. the orange tint is kind of unique and the size of the watch, unlike the other G-shocks, is reasonable and quite slim. the only thing i would have changed was the glossy wristband. i much prefer the ordinary matt look.

CASIO G-Shock Mens Rose Gold Collection GIEZ Black Analog Watch. Model: GS1100BR-1A Review

CASIO G-Shock Mens Rose Gold Collection GIEZ Black Analog Watch. Model: GS1100BR-1A
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have long been a lover of watches, particularly the G-shock line. Extremely durable, functional and relatively inexpensive, I have had a G-shock since the early 1990s and have never looked back. Recently, Casio has elevated the watch to what I think may be among the "coolest tools" ever.My most recent G-Shock was the GW1200A, as rugged as always, but now with solar power and the "Wave Ceptor" atomic clock synchronization, this dual display analog/digital watch represented the culmination of many years of striving for perfection.

I really liked the elegant metal band and the very sweet analog+digital display. But several of the pins had broken over the past few years and I began to crave something newer and more elegant still...

Enter the GS1100BR-1A.This is a magnificent watch in every regard.

Differences from the old GW1200A:

The Good:
-Even more elegant-looking pure analog display
-Very fancy mechanics given all things are done with the analog display
-Thinner and lighter than the GW1200A
-Still has almost all the features: Wave Ceptor, Solar Power, World Clock, Stopwatch.
-Super handsome rose-gold highlights

The Bad:
-Back to a plastic band...
-Some shenanigans when switching modes due to the fancy pure analog display (you have to wait for awhile while it adjusts to the next time zone or alarm setting and you can't do anything while this happens)
-No countdown timer function
-Stopwatch is a little tough to read given the minutes are on one of the tiny hands
-No backlight (!)

Summary: A more elegant watch that aims to be something closer to a dress watch than the GW1200A, the few compromises are welcome for an overall spectacular product that I highly recommend.

Casio Men's MTG900DA-9V G-shock MT-G Atomic Solar Watch Review

Casio Men's MTG900DA-9V G-shock MT-G Atomic Solar Watch
Average Reviews:

There are no instructions on how to adjust the metal band. The band is ridiculuously large.
I don't know whose wrist it is suppose to fit. Unlike other manufacturers like seiko where
you can adjust the band by moving a spring loaded rod along a metal clasp which has lots of holes in it and covers a distance
of an inch and a half or more. This watch has metal clasp with only 3 holes over a distance of less than a quarter inch. The only way to adjust this band is to take it to a watch repair place and have the links removed.
Note that Amazon includes a "watch care & returns" brochure which states that "watches that have been resized or otherwised altered will not be accepted for return". Ain't that a catch 22?

For timing your sports training sessions, it offers a 1/100-second stopwatch with a 100-minute measuring capacity and elapsed time, split time, and 1st/2nd place time modes as well as a 24-hour countdown timer.

Its a great watch. It's got some heft.At first, I thought it was hard to read because this LCD is the reverse of normal LCDs.The entire screen is black, with the information appearing in gray.I can read it fine, though. In dim light or nighttime, the light function works great and the button is easy to find without needing to see.The best part about the watch is that it looks incredible. In my opinion, it's the best looking casio atomic solar watch hands down.

The band is black metal, and it doesnt scratch off. When removing links, I wasnt delicate with the thumb tack.I scratched at the metal many times, and it never scratched at all or lost any of the black.I was expecting the black to flake off, but it hasnt. If I had to guess, I would say the metal itself is black.

Casio Atomic G-Shock with Tough Solar Power GW1210A-1AV Watch Review

Casio Atomic G-Shock with Tough Solar Power GW1210A-1AV Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought the GW1210A 2AV which is the same as this watch only a different color brand new (paid $220 a year ago as it listed for $300+) and just so you know as of the time of this writing the GW1210A model is no longer sold by Casio anymore. There is a very good reason for that.

Theoretically this is a great watch. It has so many wonderful functions, that is. . .when it works. It has been in the Casio shop for SEVEN months (it never worked right from the begining). The first time it was repaired it took 2 moths but when I received it back it did not work right in other areas that worked before. I sent it back again and it has been five months and counting! I just heard from the techs who told me they cannot repair it. They broke two watches and have gone through several modules (the gizmo that runs the electronic features)trying to get it to work. It is not the techs, it is the watch.

The Casio service department has been a nightmare. They do not call back when they say they will. In fact they have NEVER called back until today. I have a 7 month long log of all the calls and promises they have made as to when the watch would be ready. ALL of them were not kept and they had the attitude that I was bothering them.

For months I have been asking for a replacement watch or at least that they would extended the warranty for another year from the point when I received the watch back-- Casio has said, "No" until now since after 7 months they cannot fix it. They cannot replace this model as they say they do not stock it anymore. So I am now having to negotiate with them on a replacement watch. The GW1200 is the only comparable watch. It has the same wonderful features but has a different module, so hopefully it will work. I asked for that watch but they have said they do not have that watch either. I will report back when this is finally resolved.

If you buy a G Shock get one of the cheaper watches. That way you will not be out much money and maybe the simpler style watch will work better. I've had great luck with their cheap watches.

I bought this watch because I like the idea of having it always accurate.
The only trouble is that it does not get the signal in the area where I reside, Vancouver, BC. I had another Casio that used to work fine and get a good signal in Vancouver, BC, but for some reason it totally stopped working. So I bought this one and immediately adjusted the belt to fit my wrist. Unfortunately, I need to return it but they would not take it back since the watch was resized and used. The Online store suggested me to contact Casio, which in turn suggested me to contact the store where I purchased the watch. I am still trying to find a solution.

This watch is really good looking, and very functional. Like otherCasio ana-digi watches, it takes some getting used to in terms of setting the time, date, etc. My particular watch holds the time extremely well, I am surprised however that the "Atomic" radio reception for automatic time keeping was not incorporated in this design. At this price, that should have been included. The "World Time" funcionality is very useful, as I often travel overseas or contact people there, and thus quickly knowing what time it is over there is very helpful. The solid hands are also better than many other watches, they stand out clearly against the dark face backgound. I hope and expect it will serve me for many years to come.

Casio Men's GW2500-1A G-Shock G-Aviator Chronograph Sport Watch Review

Casio Men's GW2500-1A G-Shock G-Aviator Chronograph Sport Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The 3 Issues:
1. No second hand. You need to rely solely on the small but daylight-readable digital display. This omission may have been to save energy, given its solar power.
2. Non uniform illumination. The mechanical hands & dials are well lit, the "6" at bottom is overly bright, but the digital displays are barely readable. I solved this problem for the lower display by sticking, using thin transparent weather stripping tape, a small aluminum foil reflector over the "6". It is shaped like a circular segment (also circle segment-see wikipedia), with the flat edge lined up with the bottom of the lower digital readout and the curved edge allowing you to just see the tip of the minute hand. It may take a few trials to get it right, but it greatly improvesillumination of the more-important lower display, including seconds, and blocks the glaring "6".
3. The alarm is not very loud and directional (loudest facing the front), I can't imagine hearing it in a noisy cockpit and it definitely won't wake me from a sound sleep. But my wife says it's loud, so it may just be that my age 66 hearing notch happens to match it's frequency.

Everything else is very positive. It came on the day before we switched back to EST and automatically adjusted well before the other two atomic clocks in the house. I have the "SIG" enabled to double beep every hour and it aligns EXACTLY with this Mac laptop's hourly time announcement. The mode dial is well thought out and tells you at a glance what is going on. After less than an hour in sunlight, the charge level has remained at "H" with just normal exposure inside. All of the functions are well designed and intuitive, so you don't need to carry the book after a day or two. It's big, but feather weight compared to the similarly-sized Timex IronMan it has replaced, which also wasn't very loud.

First of all I thought that I wouldnt like the color of this watch, I thought it was going to have alot of sparkles but it dosent. Secondly I thought that it was going to be the japanese version but once again I was wrong and the caseback has a dragon instead of a flying rodent, not to say that there is anything wrong with the japanese version. A little thickker and with the sensor a little bit wider than a mudman. Very Very Cool Watch.

Casio Men's GW002KA-3V G-Shock Solar Atomic Timekeeping Watch Review

Casio Men's GW002KA-3V G-Shock Solar Atomic Timekeeping Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I just got this watch yesterday, so this review cannot address issues of longevity or service life. However, I noticed there are no reviews on Amazon of this particular model as I was shopping and comparing, so I thought I would provide my comments here. I did a lot of comparisons and research when selecting this watch.

Overview:
Before I get into a lot of details, my quick impressions - better than expected! It looks better than it does in any pictures I found, in which the watch looks solid black with a blue face. There is a lot of dark subdued green hues, as well as black, that give the watch a subtle military look. The face is only blue when illuminated; otherwise it looks a bit gray/green, which I like. I also love the nylon-resin band. The buttons are well designed. They are not easy to hit accidentally, yet I find them easy to use when I want to.The atomic timekeeping works well so far (I live in the Phoenix, AZ area). I did a manual receive yesterday, and the watch successfully received time synchronization while I slept last night (which is very easy to confirm when you get up). The functions are plentiful and easy to figure out by referencing the manual. If you have had another G-shock the functions will be very familiar.

Check the manuals:
When I started looking at different brands I remembered an original G-shock I had a long time ago. I gave it to my son. I checked and was very interested in the solar power and atomic timekeeping. The biggest problem was deciding on which model. I found the technical specifications listed on Casio's website were a bit misleading. There are some functions that are listed only for certain models, yet when I downloaded the owner's manuals I found all the models I compared had them. For instance, some list the ability to turn daylight savings time on and off. I was concerned about models that did not list that capability since I live in AZ and we don't use DST! I found by reading the manuals that all the models I was considering has that capability - they probably all do.If you are very concerned about a particular function, I recommend downloading the manuals from Casio.com. You have to get the module number (not model number) for the watch, then you can download the manual from the support page.

More on the band:
I was worried because I wasn't sure what a "nylon resin" band would be like. I am familiar with the resin band, like on my original. I went to a local Walmart to see if they had one. I found a similar watch with a nylon strap with a Velcro closure. It was okay, but I wasn't thrilled with it. I ordered the Green Atomic thinking that was the strap I was getting. I was very pleasantly surprised with this strap. It is not a cloth like nylon at all. It is more like resin band reinforced with nylon - so it is comfortable, seems like it will be very strong, and it is not the kind of material that will absorb sweat and other moisture (which was my concern). I like to go from working out to the steam room, to the shower, and then to work - all while wearing a watch. I was worried about having something that would soak up sweat.Lightweight vs Heavyweight:
In looking at the various solar atomic models, it seems to me there are some that are lightweight (like the green atomic), and some that are metallic and very heavy. My Citizen Aqualand was very heavy, so I didn't think I would mind that, but I went to a local store and put on one of the MTG series G-shocks and didn't like it. I prefer the lighter styles, like this one.

Main Function Difference:
One of the biggest considerations was the set of functions. All the Casios have a lot of functions. In the G-shock atomic solar watches - the main difference is that some have the time recorder (which allows you to hit a memo button to record up to 30 different times) and others (like this model) have a countdown timer. I really like having a countdown timer with alarm - I miss that from my old G-shock. I really couldn't think of much use for the time recorder.

The little things:
I was a little sorry to see no display of the day of the week. I may be the only person who forgets what day of the week it is, but I was sad to see it was not included in the display. I was pleased to find out (accidentally - I did not find this in the manual) that I can toggle between the date display and the day of week by hitting the "B" button while in timekeeping mode!

Reliability:
As I already mentioned, mine is brand new. I scoured the Internet for reviews and found a couple of people who posted problems with solar models dying on them. They also mentioned that once out of warranty, battery replacement on these models is more than the watch. I am curious about that and I am thinking of contacting Casio and asking about that. I also found some reviews of solar models that have held up for a long time and are still running. Although this isn't a cheap watch, it is not terribly expensive either. I am comfortable taking a "risk." These G-shocks seem to have a very good overall reputation for reliability and ruggedness.

Summary:
If, like me, you like the G-shock and are anal about knowing exactly what time it is - the atomic G-shock is a great watch.Trying to wade through all of the various models can be difficult, but if you narrow down what you want:
1.Analog vs digital
2.Light vs heavy
3.Time recording vs countdown alarm

You can narrow down your choices more quickly. So far I am thrilled with my choice, and I don't expect that to change.
