Firstly, the look.It is an elegant white watch with subtle maritime color scheme of seagreen, ocean blue, and fuschia.If you're like me and you're eyeing this watch, then the color scheme must have made a notable impression on you.

Secondly, the functionality.Now, the title for this written review is a little saturnine:I have no idea why anyone would want to know the moon age and tidal strength at a particular geographical point.However, by inputting your own Home Site Data of wherever you might happen to be, you can do just that with this watch!I suppose it's welcome to know that the East Coast, as of now, is experiencing a new moon.

It also comes with all the usual bells-and-whistles a $100 digital watch is expected to give you:countdown timer, stopwatch, five different alarm configurations, hourly signaling.The awesome thing about this watch is that you can have every single one of those functions operating at the same time!The watch beeps as the countdown meter proceeds, there is a graphic on the watch itself to keep track of two independent stopwatch timers, and the alarm sends audio signals whenever it is triggered.Amazing!

For the price point [$80-100] this watch will not disappoint you if you are looking for something both trendy and functional.

While the classic red buttons Mudman is a well knwon sturdy and reliable watch,this orange version gives the watch a different and fun twist. The Mudman is filled with lots of very useful features that I use almost daily. Besides being cool,the orange version is well known among Gshock connoisseurs to have a more legible dial compared to the classic version. I don't see myself wanting to trash this watch for my mountainbike rides,I'll us the classic one for that,while I'll keep this one for my everyday active life and travels. For those wondering if this watch is too big or too heavy let me answer you no,it's not.It's very well proportioned and it may even looks small for some. It is also unbelivably light and comforable,you really barely remember it's there.
Kudos to Amazon for their super fast delivery.

(More customer reviews)I bought one of these white Casio watches about 3 years ago. It's a great watch and love the atomic feature BUT I wish I had know the white color is just painted on. It rubs off and looks pretty bad when it does. If I had it to do over again I wouldn't have worn it as a everyday watch and maybe it would have stayed looking nice longer. I called Casio customer service to ask them if all of their colored or white watches were just painted on finishes and yep, they are. Maybe someday they will make the housing and bands with color all the way through, just not there yet.

(More customer reviews)Wow, I am really loving this watch.This is my first G-shock and I'm really glad I made the purchase.I was a little worried about the blue color initially, but it's not a really bright blue.The LCD is SUPER easy to read, it has a turquoise hue to it making it very bright.Even in low light it is easy to see the time without using the illumination.Very comfortable and light for it's size.The buttons are a bit hard to push, but this is a mud-resistant watch, so what do you expect?It's better than being able to push them accidentally.Really happy with it.

(More customer reviews)Solid watch for those who like a watch on steroids. Functions work well with no issues. Lights up nicely at night. The blue color is unique and breaks the monotony of the normal black style for this watch without being "loud" in color.

Tide function of the Casio watches is the only one I've found you can custom set up by the lunitidal interval for any given area. Granted, it's tricky and requires you to look up the info yourself and put that interval in but the manual does come with a sizeable list intervals of beaches all over the world. If you care to you can program it to your beach based on your local info. A quick search on the web will yield instructions on how to do this.

WOW what can I say this watch is truly beautiful, the quality and the craftsmanship is outstanding much more than I ever have seen in this class of watch before! I am a big Casio G Shock fan I have been using them over twenty years. They are the strongest and toughest watches on the market by far and they do not scratch easy like other much more expensive brands.
Pros
1)The display looks very nice and bright.
2)The watch has updated regularly at midnight every time and I live in Florida far away from Colorado.
3)The time keeping is outstanding!I have never seen nothing like this before even in much more expensive brands, and even if I force it not to receiving a signal for several days.
4)The finish on the band is excellent and after adjustment fits really good on my wrist.
5)This watch has many more functions that I will ever use but I will use some from time to time {Stopwatch}.
Cons none
I Love the way this watch looks by far the nicest digital display I have ever seen on any watch! This is truly the nicest watch I have ever owned and it is not the most expensive I have bought. I am thinking about buying another just like it for a back up, really I am! Thanks Casio for another outstanding product that looks Fantastic!

(More customer reviews)Top 10 Gadgets of 2009 (Rated #8) according to Time magazine.This is my first G-Shock and first watch with an inverted display.I wanted a sturdy watch that I wouldn't feel would break if I banged into something.I have several Citizen, Tissot watches that I just felt were to prone to being scratched/destroyed.

I'm very happy with the design/look of this watch.The pictures (as of today) on Amazon are distorted and don't do justice to the look of the watch.While this watch is a very large watch compared to some of the other G's, it feels nice and comfortable on my wrist.

I wanted a watch for functions as well as reliability.With the watch being solar powered, along with an atomic feature makes this watch a must have.The watch has alarm's, timer, dedicated button (the G button) to the light which is very nice (can work in any mode), 2nd time zone, world time, etc.

I've gone through a lot of watches in my time but this by far is one of my favorites and is a must have in your collection if you're looking for a reliable, sturdy, function filled watch!

1/5/10 Follow-up:

Since I'm an avid Scuba Diver, I wanted to know if this particular watch can be operated underwater (switching through operations on the watch).

It's a big watch but it doesn't feel like one.The cuffs on the inside of the band make this the most comfortable G-Shock I've ever owned - especially since I have a fairly small wrist.I had previously ordered the Gulfman because I wanted the Tide Graph but it just didn't fit right and it wasn't comfortable.After searching for another G-Shock with the Tide Graph I found this one (the G7900-1) and it's great.I like the fact that it has 5 alarms and a countdown timer in addition to all of the other features.The styling is nice and modern, it's easy to read, and the red button in the lower right side gives it a nice touch.The moon phase indicator is nice and large too.

(More customer reviews)For start,the design of the watch is great.The visual bulk of the watch disappears as soon as it's on your wrist; it doesn't sit as high on your wrist as some G shocks tend to and the rubber strap is quite comfy.The buttons on the sides of the Mudman are large but a little stiff due to the one piece construction of the buttons and case to greatly reduce mud from entering inside the case.The shortcoming with the G9000MS-1 model specifically however is the display.Forget about trying to read it in low light conditions at all, and even when there is adequate light, you may find yourself tilting it at just the right angle in order to read the digits.The smaller details of the display such as the alarm indicators are all but impossible to read without the backlight.Once the backlight is activeated, the digital display characters go from a dull red to a bright blue, and the white words around the display are lit up in a bright white.Aesthetically, the blacked out face in combination with the black case, band and metal bits make it fit the theme well.The G9000MS-1 is still as practical and durable as any other G Shock, just expect to get more use out of the backlight.
