This is my 2nd seiko watch. I bought another seiko because of the quality at a great price.
I already smacked this watch into a sharp edge and the face did not scratch, but I got a little scratch on the bezel, but no big deal.
The watch is beautiful except for 1 thing.
the hands and second and third inner faces are very reflective. You cant tell from the picture, but in real life, it hard to read the time sometimes, unless you move your hand a half inch in a different direction. It also gives the face a cheaper look.
But its still really nice. I'm torn, but I think I'm gonna keep it.
P.s. It also doesnt fit my hand very well. its either too loose or too tight. The only way to make adjustments is by taking out or putting in a link. Some watches have xtra small connections in the clasp but this is a double snap clasp, and has no option for that.

(More customer reviews)Overall, I am pleased with this watch.Nice styling, seems to be solidly constructed etc.It functions very well; I'vee had no problems at all with syncing with atomic clock (in New Mexico).Most functions are intuitive, though I had to spend a few minutes with the manual.Dual time function is good if you have to keep track of a second zone.Very comfortable, high quality flexible rubber strap, easy to read glowing hands, very cool LED backlight.

The only "con" is that it takes a while to move to some modes, especially Alarm and Dual time.The hands need to go forward or back to time of the setting, which can take a while. I'd also like to see a solar powered version, as I worry about battery life a little, with the hands having to move so much.

(More customer reviews)Good watch and easy as to set up if you read the manual (can get it online).The moon age is out by a day constantly though (which effects the tide graph), and it doesn't look like you can adjust this (it calculates from your 'home site data' and date) other than fiddling with GMT time or lunitidal interval values... which isn't ideal and probably isn't accurate either.Apart from that it's a pretty cool watch... just wish it was more accurate with the tides coz I use it for water sports. 5 alarms is good (I struggle to get up sometimes ;), auto light is handy at times.Tide graph is hard to erad when it's low tide coz the display is little. Case isn't all stainless steel either, it's plastic where the band pins join to the case which is a bummer coz it won't be as strong.

(More customer reviews)Although this watch is "only" a Casio it is simply an amazing and elegant timepiece. For under $60 dollars the watch looks like it costs at least $100 more and has tons of features to keep any technophile content.

The Pros of this watch include:

- Looks:Unlike a lot of other Casio watches, which have cheap looking plastic parts holding the metal pieces together, this watch is all metal. It looks like it is on par with the Seiko's and Pulsar's out there.I chose the square model over the otherwise identical round model because it looks more elegant whereas the round appears more sporty... either way you cannot go wrong.

- Features: The face of the watch is embedded with digital screens that are not normally visible unless you really try and look for them.This allows it to have the grace of a analog watch with the technology and features of a digital.But remember this is an analog watch first so the digital screens are not quick and easy to read like a true digital watch... they are there for supplementary information.

Cons of this watch include:

- The hands of the watch can partially obstruct the digital screens at times.

- The indicators for the alarm, hourly chime, autobacklight, etc. are really small and hard to see.

- The clasp of the band is made from much cheaper looking steel than the rest of the watch. This is not really a problem since you cannot see this part once the clasp is closed.

- The band is rather difficult to adjust and there are not a lot of settings in between so I was not able to get the "perfect" fit although it is very close.

- The band seems to scratch easily.I have had a Pulsar diver's watch for 20 years and had no scratches on its band.I have owned the Casio for less than 1 month and already there are a few faint scratches.Luckily I have not scratched the crystal as of yet but I would not be surprised if this also was easy to scratch.

- The thermometer is innacurate but it can be calibrated and once you calibrate it according to your body temp it does a fair job of telling you the temperature.

- It only has 1 alarm, and it does not have atomic timekeeping like other Casio watches.

Overall I have been really happy with the features and appearance of this watch. It really draws lots of compliments for its analog style and when people look at it upclose they are wowed by the technology factor as well.Really a good buy for the money, hopefully it will hold up with daily use and abuse.

(More customer reviews)Perfect regatta watch. I have used this watch for many years and currently own two of them. The best feature is the repeating countdown timer with audible alert every minute, 30s, 20s, 10s, 5,4,3,2,1 ... (this is not a common feature in other Casio watches - unfortunately) You can hear it in heavy air on the starting line, which can't be said about many other, much more expensive, watches. Over the years, I have gone through half a dozen or more of those, primarily because they got pulled off by a line or ripped off from my hand in some other fashion. Never gave it a second thought because it is so cheap, always carry a backup in my bag to a regatta. You can hand one to your crew or a friend and if it does not come back - oh well... The band is solid. The only disadvantage is that it is hard to keep it completely clean if you live an active life and spend some time in the water. Not quite good enough to wear as a dress watch unless it is new (although I have been doing just that for a while). Never had to replace the battery. You will get some scratches, but to my knowledge, this is essentially unbreakable watch. Also, no gimmick features like moon-phase...
- dual time is good if you travel across timezones occasionally
- alarm is loud
- stopwatch with the usual features
- countdown - the best
- back-light is bright enough
reliable, practical, durable, light, inexpensive and OK looking

Casio Men's W87H-1V Illuminator Sport Watch Review

(More customer reviews)Over the years, I have bought nothing but this particular watch. I got my first 6 years ago, and had it for 4 years until it met its end in the washing machine. I drove over the second (whoops!) and am now on the third. The reason I keep coming back to this particular watch is that it is rediculously easy to set and use. In the traditional time mode, there is an option for 10 seconds of backlighting, and a toggle between 12 and 24 hour mode. Press "mode" and you continue on to the alarm settings. You can toggle the alarm on and off, as well as set a chime for the hour. The exact same process is followed to set the alarm as to set the time. Press 'light', then use the 12/24 button to increment the fields, and 'light' to continue through all the fields. If you changed anyhting, pressing mode returns you to the time, otherwise, pressing mode again takes you on to the timer. 12/24 starts the timer, light spltis the time, and 12/24 again stops the timer. Pressing light while stopped clears the entry. Pressing mode returns you to the time if you used the timer, otherwise, it continues on to the set-time screen. This behaves the same as the set alarm screen, except you also set the date here.
After 6 years of using this model watch, I have found exactly two problems.
1) The date didn't increment to Feb 29, 2000. It went to March 1, 2000. But I was able to manually set it, and it's been fine ever since. We'll see what happens Feb 29, 2004.
2) My first one had a type of cloth for the wristband. It wore out relatively quickly, leaving me with the watch but no band. The plastic/rubbery band is much more durrable.
But the positives are much more numerous:
1) Extremely easy to set.
2) Batteries have never wore out on me, and I use the backlight frequently.
3) Nice backlight.
4) Logical "menus"
5) Intuitive navigation - I am a computer programmer, but I've had other digital watches that I could not navigate through with the manual. This one is usable without a manual.
6) Year 2000 compatible! :)
This watch is worth far more than Amazon (or anyone, for that matter) charges for it.

(More customer reviews)Great watch with many great features. I love the size of the digital layout and the metal band is durable. To resize the band, push out the pins from the side that looks like screws.

Pros: Accurate, good looking, multiple alarms, timer, and stop-watch.

Cons: Metal band latch sometimes deforms, making it hard to latch. You have to bend it a certain way to make it work. The analog hands sometimes get out of sync with the digital time. You can fix that easily, but annoying sometimes. Lastly, at night you can't use the watch features. There is a light, but it occupies a button used for setting alarms and such. So if you are setting your alarm, you can't see the display. Timex has a night feature that, once enabled, turns the light on with every button press. My former watch had it and it was a very handy feature.

Great for the price.

Casio Men's MDV102-1AV Sea Analog Illuminator Dual LED Dive Watch Review

(More customer reviews)This is a great looking sports watch, and the light is really bright - it's a white LED both at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock, so it allows for nice visibility in low light.The stainless steel case is nicely polished and looks very sharp.This watch really looks more expensive than it is, and I've had people ask about it when wearing it.It's an eye catching watch.

The MDV102-1AV is 200m water resistant, which means it can handle you going swimming, snorkeling, even some diving without much problem.This watch has a screw-down crown too, which makes it even more water resistant.The only thing to watch out for is washing the dishes, hot tubbing, or showering with it - warm/hot water isn't great for watertight seals on watches.I've heard it can weaken the seals and cause a leak.

The little marlin on the watch is a great touch, and the face is very easy to read.The white markers contrast really well with the black dial, and even have a mirror-like edge to them, which makes the markers stand out even more.The offset date at 4 o'clock makes it look interesting, too.

My only disappointment was the band - it's a hard rubbery band and not very comfortable.That's why I took off one star from my rating.Aside from the band this watch really rocks!To solve that, I bought a Timex Expedition Adjustable 16-20mm watch strap TX977761L, Timex watchband, Fast - Wrap Expedition, 16-20mm, Black, Adjustable, Long.It's for a Timex Expedition, so it says Timex on it, but it's a great velcro strap that's really easy to adjust and install on the Casio.

If you decide you want to change straps like me, just pop out the strap that comes with the Casio, pull out and save the little springs, then attach the Casio (using it's springs) to the Timex strap.Took 3 minutes and I love the adjustable Timex strap, it's very comfortable and dries out easily when it's gotten wet.

I definitely recommend this watch.It's well worth the money for the water resistance, and looks really nice!
