(More customer reviews)I got my first G-Shock as a gift in 1980 when I was still in high school.It was a bit of a novelty at the time.Took it to Africa and back, twice.Banged it against tables and walls when people asked, "Is that thing really as tough as they say?".I went through 3 straps, but 20 years later (that's not a typo) when the casing around the watch itself finally cracked off, it was STILL RUNNING ON THE SAME BATTERY.No kidding.I've still got it in a box somewhere.The battery is dead now, but the legend of this incredibly durable, useful watch was by then well made.Recently, a terrific aluminum Swatch I was using deteriorated, and i needed another capable work piece.I was thrilled that Casio was still making these, even if they're no longer made in Japan.I'm so happy with this one.If you're looking for a watch that can really take a beating and just grin at you, this is the one.Enjoy.
